Parcel or LTL? We help you decide per SKU

Usually parcel

  • Parts, accessories and consumables
  • Small countertop or benchtop units within parcel limits

Usually LTL

  • Full equipment units on pallets to business addresses
  • Dealer and distributor replenishment
  • Multi-unit project orders

Commercial equipment is LTL-first: parcel is mostly for parts. Delivery-site details (dock vs. liftgate, hours, access) are captured with the order. See LTL fulfillment.

Fulfillment guide

Commercial Equipment fulfillment: detailed considerations

Common fulfillment challenges

Business deliveries with conditions

Commercial addresses may or may not have a dock. Orders need the right equipment (liftgate, appointment, limited-access notes) on the BOL or the delivery fails.

Pallet build and freight class

Dense equipment on a well-built pallet rates differently than the same unit loose. Accurate weight, dimensions and NMFC-style freight descriptions keep LTL invoices predictable.

Parts and spares

After the equipment ships, customers need parts and accessories quickly by parcel — from the same inventory system.

Dealer and distributor channels

Most volume moves through dealers, distributors and direct business accounts rather than consumers.

B2B and retail considerations

  • B2B buyers expect accurate BOLs, pallet labels and advance shipment details; these are part of the order workflow.
  • Dealer pricing, terms and account management stay with the brand; Cloudway executes the physical fulfillment.
  • Some commercial equipment is also sold through online channels such as Amazon, Walmart, eBay or a Shopify store; Cloudway supports seller-fulfilled workflows for those channels as well.

Frequently asked questions

Can Cloudway ship palletized equipment to businesses without a loading dock?
Yes, by booking LTL with carrier liftgate and, where needed, appointment delivery. These accessorials are carrier-delivered and quoted per shipment.
Do you ship parts and accessories as well as full units?
Yes. Parts ship by parcel and full units by LTL from the same inventory, so dealers and end customers can be served from one location.
Does Cloudway install or service commercial equipment?
No. Cloudway handles storage, order processing and shipping. Installation, commissioning and service are handled by the brand or its partners.
Why does pallet build matter for LTL equipment shipments?
Weight, dimensions and freight description on the BOL determine LTL pricing. A stable, correctly measured pallet reduces damage and reclassification charges.

Qualification notes

  • Installation, commissioning, rigging and equipment servicing are not Cloudway services.

  • Cloudway operates a 40,000 sq ft warehouse in Hayward, CA with pallet storage and LTL capability. Fit is confirmed per product line after we review dimensions, weights, packaging and order profile — not assumed from the category.
  • Retailer and marketplace programs set their own vendor, labeling and routing requirements. Cloudway supports workflows for these channels; it does not guarantee acceptance, placement or approval on any channel.
  • Product safety, certification and labeling compliance remain the brand’s responsibility. Cloudway does not provide regulatory or certification services.
  • Liftgate, residential and appointment delivery are carrier services and white-glove delivery is partner-delivered; all are quoted per shipment and depend on lane and destination.
